Unicig Company Headquarters

“Our chief engineer and CEO were both educated by a professor from Princeton University…”

Today, with a staff of 100 and grossing 20 million USD annually, the company future is looking bright.

Unicig may even trade shares on the stock market soon, depending on new Chinese tobacco laws being proposed.

It goes without saying that the Mutation-X line of atomizers was Unicig’s highest achieving and best-selling product line. The Mutation-X has helped win many cloud competitions because of tremendous quality and innovation.

How did this company manage to create one of the best rebuildable atomizers to date?

Unicig had the added benefit of diversity from the start. David mentions that,

“almost 99% of the engineers in Shenzhen do not know English. They seldom go abroad or communicate directly with customers. They cannot grasp market needs as soon as possible. This is why you see so many copies from China, even copies of copies. But, our chief engineer and CEO were both educated by a professor from Princeton University, that was volunteering to teach in China.”

The bar is now set… Ivy league education is one of the cornerstones of Unicig.

David continues,

“This is how we were able to create our own brand name Indulgence Mutation X in September 2014. Within three months, it became a top seller, due in part to strategies we learned…”

Princeton has long been a bulwark of creative energy and innovative thinking in the United States. Few companies in the vape industry can say their management have a world-class education.

Well-trained and prospective, the company sees threats looming in the distance. The biggest threat, according to David, is “copies.”

David elaborates,

“Most Chinese industrialists do not understand what customers really need. They do not bother to think about the future of the business. All they care about is easy money.”

The bold statement provides some ammunition for customers that prefer to buy authentic products. Copies of copies generally have quality fade, which is not what you would want when you are working with expert builds.

According to David, the lowest-quality replicas are made by companies with little regard for long-term customer loyalty.

“Most Chinese industrialists do not understand what customers really need. They do not bother to think about the future of the business. All they care about is easy money.

David says the company’s corporate culture revolves around affordability and user experience.

As the company grew, they injected great after-sale service into the culture as well. Understanding trends and integrating them is four-fold.

“Customers, USA partners, forums, and conventions” says David. These are the pillars that power the future inspiration for the company.

The biggest companies in the field spend tremendous energies toward absorbing customer feedback. That info, used for future designs and refinements, is definitely a key of Unicig’s strategy too.

With the United States being the biggest market for their products, the company spends a lot of time with their ear to the ground here, listening to the customer.

And although the industry moves fast, David says, “we do feel pressure, but we still keep our own pace…we do not release products very fast…”

The average product from design to completion takes three months for the company.

“Customers, USA partners, forums, and conventions,” says David. These are the pillars that power the future inspiration for the company.

They are not worried about product cycles too much, because they innovate first and others follow.

Listening directly to customers and implementing requests instead of pumping out replicas makes sense.

David elaborates further,

“Most other Shenzhen factories just copy. When they see something is hot, they may change it a little and call it a new version. This will make them easy money, but we don’t consider it a business model. They are not leaders, and could only follow our original designs.”

Needless to say, this is by far the case with the Mutation X. The rebuildable atomizer has undergone four genuine revisions, but countless tweaks and hacks by copycats.

The Mutation X atomizer was one of the most copied products in the vape scene coming out of China, so Unicig is on the right path.

“Most other Shenzhen factories just copy. When they see something is hot, they may change it a little and call it a new version. This will make them easy money, but we don’t consider it a business model.”

Without losing focus on the expert builder, Unicig is now looking at some other segments of the industry, too.

David elaborates, “We will release a new sub ohm tank atomizer soon. 0.3 ohm resistance, with a top wattage of 150w.”

It appears that even Unicig is affected by the sub ohm craze…

The proliferation of sub ohm tanks on the market does not frighten Unicig. Instead, it is a challenge to them, to design and produce the best tank there is.

David feels that the future trends will tend toward “healthier material” in construction.

The company has no plans to design any product for the Chinese domestic market just yet, although David admits that the domestic market is growing.

That means that for the near future, the United States market is the most important for Unicig. The goal for the company will continue to be the same for now, and expect products that are geared towards the U.S. market.

We can always count on Unicig for quality, durability and affordability in their authentic designs.
