Clones. The word registers strong emotions. It can still send a chill up an American manufacturer’s spine (or whatever is left of them). It can also put a smile on a broke vaper’s face and allow them to build on a deck that would otherwise be out of reach.
For better or for worse, clones had a long run in the vape industry. Although strong demand has died down, they can still be found in some places.
When clones were an important part of the industry, there were only a handful of companies that could be relied upon for high quality, and EHPro was one of them.
Shenzhen EHPro Technology Co. was one of the biggest names in replica mechanical mods and rebuildable atomizers because of their reputation for build quality. When you can't afford the real deal, at least the clone would last a little while before breaking down from wear and tear.
The transition from clones to authentic products was a long time coming. The industry has stagnated in the clone field, as the market has moved toward affordable authentic hardware.
“EHPro is striving to become one of the top manufacturers in the industry…”
EHPro is one of a few Chinese companies that can say they collaborated with an American company.
One of their collaborations resulted in the Billow and the Billow V2, which were runaway hits and have a strong following. Released in early 2016, the Billow V3 integrated many current industry trends.
With a staff of 129, they are a medium-sized firm and have been in the electronic cigarette business since 2011. The executive marketing director, Mr. Shaun Lee, speaks to the history of the company, explaining that EHPro has focused on electronic cigarettes from the start.
The first product ever made was a CE4 clearomizer, a popular silica wick atomizer in 2011. After the CE4, the company started making replicas. Their Kayfun RBA clone, although not nearly as well-built as the real thing, was a market mainstay, and later revisions of that atomizer were made with user feedback in mind.
The company’s expertise lies with rebuildable atomizers…
Although their biggest sellers have been tanks, atomizers are not the limit of their capability, however. EHPro has produced mechanical and regulated mods as well of their own design as well, with temperature control boxes like the SPD A5 and A8.
They follow vaping trends and are very nimble to adapt to them, with the first temperature control device being of their own design. The A5 was available just months after temperature control functionality became mainstream.
“We hope our company develops as magnificently as the sun rises from the East…” Says Shaun. “EHPro is striving to become one of the top manufacturers in the industry.” Shaun Lee is the head of marketing and has been with the company since its inception five years ago. He is optimistic about the company’s future.
